Healing the City
Every day before dawn breaks, the City of London is prepared for action by a hidden work-force; Cleaners, clearing away the mess of yesterday and making everything ready for the day ahead; Security Guards acting as Gatekeepers, functioning around the clock, overseeing all who come and go; Transport workers, Road Sweepers, Bus and Taxi drivers. All play their part to keep the City running smoothly and yet are largely 'invisible'.
Healing the City is an initiative to connect with the many hundreds of people who make up this hidden part of God's work-force, uniting them in strategic prayer for the City of London (Square Mile).
Its purpose is to recognise, honour and equip these spiritual warriors, who are already strategically positioned within the City walls, to take up their place as intercessors for the purposes and Kingdom of God across London.
We pray that together our prayers will open up the City to the Gospel in fresh ways; that salvation, righteousness and truth might break forth. Our vision is to mobilise this hidden work-force of cleaners, caretakers, security personnel, street cleaners and car park attendants in the City to pray in their respective locations for the Kingdom and presence of God to come and to see a change in the spiritual climate.
